Do not let the clothes cool after washing or the threads will loosen and you wont be able to shrink it effectively stop the dryer periodically to check the size. Drying your clothes in the machine for 15 20 minutes can help speed up the drying process but removing them while they are still damp will help avoid over drying and can help prevent shrinkage.
Once you shrink your clothes to the size you want remove them from the heat and hang them up to air dry.
